Zero Fare in Worcester

The Worcester Regional Transit Authority remains fare-free until 2024, becoming the longest-running Fare Free Regional Transit System in the county.

About Us

The Zero Fare Worcester Coalition is a grassroots coalition of riders, local agencies and community leaders who have been advocating for over three years for the elimination of fares and the improvement of Worcester Regional Transit Authority service. Our work has been endorsed by 77 community, municipal, elected and business leaders, including the Worcester and Southbridge City Councils and organizations including the Worcester Chamber of Commerce and large regional employers like UMass Memorial HealthCare and TJMaxx. The Zero Fare Coalition is generously supported by the Barr Foundation.
